I’ve long loved Anita Heiss’ work. She’s plain speaking and funny, intelligent and humble. To me that’s always going to be a winning combination.
This book is an anthology so you’re not going to just get Anita’s voice in this book. You’ll hear stories from across Australia about what it’s like to grow up as an Aboriginal Australian. If you feel you want more of Anita’s voice, she has another book that may interest you, ‘Am I Black Enough For You?’ which explores cultural identity, cultural stereotypes, and her own experiences as a woman with an Aboriginal mother and an Austrian father.
