I woke to read the best possible message this morning. It was from one of the members of The Age of Visibility. In the post she publicly declared her life and soul purpose. Not as an idea but as something she was stepping into and claiming as her own. Because I haven’t yet asked her about sharing it beyond the group, let me just say it’s big and bold. Game changing barely does it justice.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I read the post and a peace settled in my being. For the first time I could see all the pieces of my own puzzle really clearly. I could see how everything fits together.
When you run your business first and foremost from a place of intuitive guidance, the big picture isn’t always clear, so it’s a hallelujah moment when you finally see the wood for the trees.
Here’s my wood and my trees; I’ve always had a dream of collaborating with strong and powerful women. Of working together to change the world. To transform it from a broken down patriarchal nightmare into something new, something more elevated that operates at a higher consciousness.
I’ve dreamt of a world where we don’t need feminism because gender is no longer used as a tool of oppression. Where gender is a much more fluid concept than it is today, and where we don’t need race discrimination legislation or disability laws, because racial diversity is celebrated, and we no longer hold to a singular concept of the physical ideal.
In this world, all sentient beings are respected and we can marry and partner with whomever we wish, be they man, woman or transgender.
Just as environmental scientists and many farmers veer away from the idea of a monoculture – recognising that they’re not sustainable – and espouse the benefits of biodiversity, I see a future where human difference and diversity is celebrated as a source of strength rather than viewed as a threat.
So when I started my business, this was my dream; to create this reality.
I started with myself because that’s the only place any of us can start. I knew that if I wanted to be surrounded by strong and powerful women, I needed to be one myself. And that meant facing my fears. I started a business because that was the one thing that terrified me most at the time.
I also started with a clear set of guidance from my soul; to heal and awaken.
So that’s what I set about doing. I taught yoga and I offered alignment sessions. I taught a program called Dakini Circles that invited women to learn about the chakras as a tool for personal transformation.
I learned about working online and I met other people who were as interested as I was (and continue to be) in a creating a different way of doing business; one that’s focused on positive social change and generating profit not for its own sake, but as a tool for creating change.
I held fast to my vision of radical social and political transformation but I could also clearly see that that wasn’t going to happen without some serious personal transformation by the whole of humanity (or at least, a good majority of the people).
So I created more personal transformation programs, including Build Healthy Habits which was my solution to the problem so many people face; the problem of fatigue and exhaustion caused by stress and busyness.
The program is founded on the understanding that people simply can’t create radical transformation in their own lives or in the world around them if they can’t get quiet and still in themselves. Because inner stillness is essential for accessing the sound of your own soul. And soul driven change is the only kind of change I’m interested in.
I created other online programs along the way and most of the time we worked on issues connected to the first three chakras (or what I call the lifestyle chakras) – connection to the earth and humanity itself, management of time and money, embracing emotion, healthy expression of creativity and sexuality, and finally, claiming personal power.
I’ve always thought of personal transformation as a process of evolution through three stages – lifestyle, leadership and legacy. And truthfully, for a long time I thought that as a community we might never make it out of the lifestyle phase.
I wondered (sometimes in despair) about when, if ever, we might convene as a council of strong and powerful women consciously creating a joint legacy. I saw so much potential and I saw so many shying away from really claiming that potential.
Finally last year I received new soul guidance, shifting my own work away from the intention to ‘heal and awaken’ and towards supporting women to speak up, to use their voices and most of all, to ‘make the invisible visible’.
When I received that guidance I cried. Both from relief and from the fear that invariably seems to arise when we step into an expanded version of ourselves.
I also cheered because I was so ready to focus on the leadership aspects of personal development.
And so The Age of Visibility came into being.
I often work through a fairly big clearing process before I start teaching a new program and this was the most challenging I’ve ever faced. So much clearing was needed to face the terror of being seen and heard clearly and without obfuscation. It was then that it became clear to me why we needed to spend so much time on clearing out the lifestyle junk. Most human beings on the planet have never ascended beyond those lifestyle issues. Most are struck in a quagmire of fear and pain.
To lead the masses out of the morass requires commitment. Commitment to freedom. True freedom, not just lifestyle freedom.
Not everyone is either ready or being called to take this journey. (Although if you’re reading this, you are. Which of course, you already know.)
As with all worthwhile journeys, this isn’t a walk in the park. Since The Age of Visibility went live, we’ve had more members encounter more technical and/or feet and ankle problems than in any program I’ve ever taught. (In my experience, technical problems invariably arise every time someone up-levels, and feet and ankle problems arise when we’re subconsciously stopping ourselves from moving forward.)
So The Age of Visibility isn’t for the feint hearted.
It’s for leaders.
It’s for women who are ready to be part of a strong and powerful council. It’s for women who know deep in their beings that they have a bigger role to play in the world.
Yes it’s scary and of course you might not know what your role is or know how it’s going to unfold. But truthfully, none of that matters. It doesn’t matter because that’s not what’s stopping it unfolding. What’s stopping it is your yes. Your big, bold announcement to the world that ‘Yes, I am ready!’
The Age of Visibility will help you to get really clear on your role and it’ll help you to claim it. Then it’ll take you through a step by step process for creating a business (or social enterprise, or ‘for purpose’ organisation) around it.
The wood and the trees will start to distinguish themselves and when you’re ready to collaborate, a council of strong and powerful women will be there to work with you.
Then this dream; the dream of a new world will manifest. It’s a dream that’s bigger than you and me. It’s a dream that’s born from deep within Mother Earth.
Working together, we’ll allow the dream to take hold and before we know it, we’ll find ourselves creating a utopian universe that’s waiting just beyond the woods.
