Right now as a global community we’re deeply immersed in base chakra considerations. 1 They include; survival, physical health and vitality, our relationship to the earth and to our bodies, nourishment, home, family, belonging, and security (which in capitalist societies is strongly tied to money and our financial wellbeing).
The relationships that are up for healing through the base chakra are those we have with our biological family, our ancestors, and our caretakers.
The wounds that are being triggered and which need healing at this time are connected to our birth experience, poor bonding with mothers, physical neglect or abandonment, growing up with physical abuse or in a violent environment, and inherited traumas.
You’ll know when there’s work to do in this area because you’ll see one or more of the following behaviours play out in your life. You’ll start hoarding, feel sluggish or excessively tired, fear change, become addicted to security and/or material possessions, experience disconnection from the body, financial difficulties, or chronic disorganisation.
In business, base chakra issues relate to everything that’s foundational to its success. Everything from:
- knowing who you’re here to support and how you support them
- ensuring that the backend of your business is cleaned up with clear procedures and structures around your business operations
- upgrading the way you manage your money
- clarifying your income streams, and
- reviewing your business software to make sure it’s equipped to support you going forward.
You’ll never be effortlessly visible in your industry if you haven’t attended to these foundational aspects of your business. You might find your way to becoming well known, but you’ll be stressed or exhausted or experiencing enormous financial pressure.
When you’ve taken the time to get your foundations right, you’ll have a much firmer foundation from which to focus on visibility and experience that visibility with ease.
A great starting point for establishing healthy foundations is understanding how you’re currently using your energy and learning to manage it better. When you’re feeling vibrantly healthy and energised, you’ll then have the capacity to take purposeful action. And purposeful action is a cornerstone of effective visibility.
Below is an excerpt from a podcast episode I produced a while back. In it I share some tips for managing your energy as well as important insights into how energy works. Included in there is information about the things that drain your energy. Resistance to what is being the most important of these. (I talk about that one toward the end of the episode.)
NB: The episode was recorded well before coronavirus was a thing so you might find you have to adjust some of the recommendations to your current circumstances. My hope is that you can adopt some habits now and that seeds will also be planted for future ways of living and working.
Two of my other favourite ways of managing my energy that I don’t mention in this excerpt are alternate nostril breathing and legs up the wall. You can find out more about them right here.
NB: Because this is such an important issues at this time, we’ve recently included a base chakra clear out in the SOV library for our SOV students. If you’d like to know when our doors next open for enrolment, please join our waiting list here.
