Rage and anger are energies. As with all energies we can learn to work with them and move them through the body. To not be afraid of them or suppress them or push them out onto other people.
That’s the process I take you through in today’s video. We work through an exercise for meeting and allowing it through the body.
As you work through the exercise, it’s important keep a few things in mind:
The most important aspect of this process is permission. Whilst you experience resistance – on any level – to the energy, it will not pass. You have to be willing to allow it in its completeness. Not with a story attached. Not resisting aspects of the rage because you’re afraid of it. Meeting it completely and allowing it to be there.
If you can’t access the emotion without a whole lot of stories or memories arising with it (and especially if you access a past trauma as you’re opening up to the emotion), it’s important to work through this process with a professional who can facilitate the healing process.
Use this technique with small and manageable emotions to begin with as you develop the skill of accessing and moving emotion through the body. Then, as you become more skilful, you’ll be able to access and transmute stronger emotions more easily.
