Welcome to our series dedicated to answering the question; Do I need to post photos of myself all the time to be successful online?
Answer no. 2: IT DEPENDS ON YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER AND WHAT THEY’RE COMING TO YOU FOR.
The guiding principle here is balance. Yes, it’s nice for people to get to see behind the scenes into your life, but unless you’re an A-lister celebrity, people don’t really need or want to know everything about your personal life.
They’re following you to learn something, to gain insight or inspiration, to change their perspective about a topic.
Give them that.
When you get to know your audience you’ll start to know more about their preferred form of communication.
????Maybe it’s reading inspirational quotes (here at the SOV you’ve shown me time and time again that you love a good feminist quote so we try and sprinkle them liberally through our feed!).
????Maybe they like reflective, thoughtful passages (another favourite in the SOV community).
????Maybe they like short, sharp actionable hints and tips.
????Maybe they like short ‘how-to’ videos.
????Maybe your feed serves as a form of escapism in their lives and so they’re coming to you for stunning photos.
Knowing this helps you to curate your feed accordingly and to create a corner of the internet that is a dream space for you and your people.
Q FOR THE DAY; What are people coming to you for?
