Welcome to our series dedicated to answering the question; Do I need to post photos of myself all the time to be successful online?
Answer no. 5: IT DEPENDS ON YOUR VISIBILITY PERSONALITY.
What’s your visibility personality? It’s the way you naturally shine and the way you naturally hide.
Inside our signature program Women Speaking Up, we use the lens of the enneagram to get a better handle on this because the enneagram is such an incredible tool for self-awareness.
In addition to being introverted or extraverted, we all have different, core motivations for being visible.
Some of us want to be:
〰️ loved,
〰️ respected or admired,
〰️ appreciated for our uniqueness,
〰️ admired for our knowledge,
〰️ seen as a great team player,
〰️ appreciated for the experiences we offer,
〰️ known as a leader,
〰️ appreciated for our harmonising or ‘chilled’ energy,
〰️ seen as an activist or social justice warrior.
A lot of the ‘influencer’ action on social media reflects the 3 on the enneagram; the inner motivation that searches for respect, that wants people to see how successful they are.
And that speaks strongly to 3 customers. They LOVE all the images of luxury and glamour and possibility.
And the people who pull off that kind of feed best are 3s. If you’re not a 3 it’s important not to fall into the trap of thinking that’s how you ‘have’ to show up online.
Better to learn your natural ways of being visible and lean into them instead.
