It’s been a while since we released a new class. And this one, I’m really excited about, because it goes to the heart of the key to a really significant breakthrough I had on my own visibility journey; clearing the persecution imprint. 

The persecution imprint is an energetic pattern passed down generation after generation which serves the purpose of keeping persecuted groups – in this case women – small, quiet and less powerful than they otherwise would be. 

In the Western world, the persecution imprint really made its mark on women during the witch hunts. After 400 years of burning us at the stake, the message had well and truly been embedded in our DNA; being seen to be different, to be vocal or controversial, to do or say anything that was inconsistent with the philosophy of Church or State might cause trauma at best, or torture and death at worst. 

The witch hunt energy echoes through time and shows up as: 

• ​chants such as ‘Lock her up’ which we saw during the 2016 US Presidential elections,
• each time (and this happens with alarming regularity) a teenage girl is singled out as a ‘slut’ by her peers, or
• when a woman makes it into a senior position within a company and people start bitching about her because she doesn’t placate them with friendly smiles and overly accommodating behaviour each time they walk past her office.

Isolating and punishing ‘unacceptable’ females is a favourite pastime of the patriarchy.

Which is why this work is of vital importance to every woman. Because if you have any sort of desire to reach an audience, build a community, and/or be more visible in the world, you know that in that process you’re going to risk displeasing others and becoming one of the ostracised. The potential for public humiliation, judgment, or attack looms, ever present.

We know this energetically, we know it in our cells (because the trauma has been passed down genetically), and we know it intellectually and emotionally. And because of this we naturally put on the breaks when it comes to speaking up. To being seen too much. Too being too loud or opinionated. 

We silence ourselves before others silence us. 

So in business we unconsciously limit our numbers, in the office we monitor how much we speak up (not wanting to be perceived as too dominant), and in our personal relationships we swallow words or emotions that are seeking expression.  

This new visibility block clearing class ​Reclamation: The Power of Witches​ specifically clears the witch wound, because as Silvia Federici notes in her book Caliban and the Witch, the witch hunts introduced a system of terror to all women. ​

So the class is a crucially important piece of work for all women and particularly those who identify as witches, priestesses, soulful, feminists (feminists being the new witches on planet patriarchy), healers, alternative therapists, yoginis, or woo woo women.   

The persecution imprint is also one that’s vitally important to all marginalised groups. The class takes you through a comprehensive clearing of the imprint as it might be showing up in your own life. If you’re an Indigenous woman, a member of the LGBTIA community, a woman with a disability, a descendant of slaves or victims of the Holocaust, if your family lived through the Soviet Union or the many other dictatorships around the world, if you’re a refugee or a descendant of refugees, a member of an immigrant group which is not treated well in the country you emigrated to, or if you were bullied in school, then the persecution imprint is really important to clear out. Not just for you, but for the generations that follow you.
