Before we dive further into other people’s platforms and how you might utilise them as part of your visibility strategy, it’s useful to take a moment to reflect on the enneagram and how it might impact on the places you choose to focus your attention.
The enneagram is an ancient personality typing system which directs you to your deepest motivations for behaving the way you do in the world.
From a visibility perspective, studying the enneagram supports you to understand not just how you hide out, but why. Once you know why, then you can start clearing the blocks to hiding. (This is something we support you to do at the School of Visibility, should you choose to study with us. You can find out more about that right here.)
It also helps you to see the different ways people show up in the world and to identify which way is going to work best for you. When you find that way you’ll feel more natural and at ease in your visibility efforts, and you’ll be more consistent in your approach.
There are three parts to our enneagram series for you to explore:
- Generic formulas are a waste of time (introducing the enneagram). This gives you an overview of the nine types, they ways they shine and hide, as well as that type in business. It also talks about the important distinction between motivation and behaviour which is crucial when coming to really understand the enneagram.
- What are they coming to your for? (introducing the enneagram part 2). This post flips the switch to your customer’s perspective vis-a-vis the enneagram. Whether you’re aware of it or not, you customer is coming to you for a quality that you may or not be aware you’re gifting to them. This identifies the qualities people respond to for each type and will help you in clarifying the offers you make through your business and/or the qualities you bring to a workplace.
- Exploring your type (introducing the enneagram part 3). This post dives into the question of how to understand your type. It also breaks down the myth that once you know your type then the job is done. In fact, the enneagram is a tool for personal and spiritual evolution. In order to benefit from the enneagram then, it’s important not just to gain knowledge about it, but to learn how to work with it to transform your life.
If you’d like to dive into a more comprehensive experience of the enneagram, where you not only uncover your own motivations around being seen and hiding out, but actually clear the wounds that are keeping you from exhibiting the more extreme versions of your type, we’ll be diving deep on this in the block clearing immersion program in season 1 of 2020. You can find out more about that and enrol with us here.
